This class is an excellent foundation for all dogs. Puppy Classes help prevent fearfulness, anxious behaviors, and you will learn the correct way to socialize your puppy in various environments. Depending on the day and time the class is scheduled, our classes will vary in weeks from 4-6 weeks. You will come once a week for 50 mins.
Puppy Classes are for puppies 12 weeks to 6 months of age. We also recommend this class for tiny breeds that weigh less than 25 lbs. regardless of age. Larger breeds that are 7 months of age or older at the time of the class should be enrolled in a First Step Class instead of our Puppy Class.
We will cover the following:
Does your dog drag you on your walks? Does she dash out the front door and flatten guests, or run away when you call her? Does she still bite your hands or clothes in play? We will address these issues in class! First Step Classes are for dogs 7 months of age and older. Depending on the day and time the class is scheduled, our classes will vary in weeks from 4-6 weeks. You will come once a week for 50 mins.
The Next Step Class is what you will take after Puppy Class or The First Step. In this 4 week session, we will focus more on stays, come-when-called, and walking on leash- all with distractions and advanced obedience skills. This is also a prep class for our Canine Good Citizen Course & Therapy Dog Class. Class is 50 mins long each week.
The Canine Good Citizen Program lays the foundation for other AKC activities such as obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events. This is a moderately advanced class for dogs who have had previous training. Dogs participating in this class are expected to already have solid basic skills such as sit, down, heel, stay, and “leave it”. The AKC Canine Good Citizen & Therapy Dog Class is for dogs that have completed a beginning obedience class. We will introduce medical equipment and prepare those who are interested in having their dog certified as a Therapy Dog. We endorse the organization Alliance of Therapy Dogs. This preparation class is 4 weeks of instruction, the 5th week will be your test day for the CGC. Each week your class will be 50 mins long.
This is a class to help with Dogs In Need Of Space. If you have a dog that is reactive towards other dogs, this is the class for you. Dealing with DINOS will help desensitize your dog in the company of other dogs. This class will help you be able to walk your dog in the neighborhood, have control during vet visits, and enjoy your companion without him or her being feisty towards other dogs. This class is 6 weeks long, you will come once a week for 50 mins.
We offer a plethora of classes and fun activities for you and your dogs from foundation agility courses to scent detection to teaching your canine friend etiquette & manners. Courses will vary in price and duration. Find out what’s coming soon to our schedule!
